Introduction

In an economic environment full of challenges and uncertainty a Master programme in Accounting and Finance offers a promising future to graduates, as professionals, in the area of accounting and finance. The programme provides undergraduate students with the necessary advanced knowledge to work not only as corporate accountants and financial managers, but also as independent professionals.

Admission requirements

  • Applicants can be admitted to the course as long as they possess a second class honours degree from a UK University, or a Ptychion of 6.5 and above from  an AEI University or a Ptychion of 7 and above from a TEI University, or a Bachelor from an American University with GPA 2.75 and above or equivalent qualification.

    Applicants who do not possess appropriate Higher Education qualifications may be admitted on to the programme on the basis of appropriate prior experience if the Programme Manager considers the applicant has demonstrated the potential to sucessfully complete the programme.  The Programme Manager may require such applicants to provide further evidence to support their application and undertake an interview.

    Those who wish to attend the course in English should also submit one of the following certifications:

    • IELTS: a minimum score of 6.0 (with a minimum score of 5.5 in each component of the test)
    • Cambridge Certificate of Proficiency in English (CPE): Grade C and above
    • Michigan Proficiency (ECPE): P (Pass) and above
    • Pearson Academic: 56 (with a minimum score of 56 in each component of the test)
    • BCA IELTS Placement Test : a minimum score of 6.0 (with a minimum score of 5.5 in each component of the test)

 Philosophy and Aims

The philosophy of the programme is to create integrated personalities able to meet any professional and/or academic challenges in the area of accounting and finance. Its goal is to generate elite graduates capable of evolving as corporate and/or individual professionals.

Its objective is to provide students with:

  • Advanced financial knowledge necessary to understand the macro and micro economic environment and its latest developments.
  • The ability to use reliable methods to solve accounting and financial problems from the work field.
  • The key knowledge of investing in both corporate projects and money and capital markets.
  • The fundamentals and advanced accounting and financial knowledge that affect the financial management of a corporation.

The  ability to understand and operate under international financial accounting and reporting standards.


Award Titles

While most students will aim to achieve the full Masters qualification, all Masters courses offer the subsidiary awards of Postgraduate Certificate or Postgraduate Diploma (both available with Merit or with Distinction) for students unable to complete their full programme of study.
